Reflection
This assignment was good to put into an introduction to physical therapy course because it gave me an idea of what I will be doing in the program. It is nice to actually know I will enjoy what I will be doing in the program instead of just assuming. Observing a PT really helped me understand that this is what I really want my career to be. I love the personal connection you get to have with all of the patients, along with the hands on exercises that you get to do with them.
Reflection
I chose to put the term project in my ePortfolio because I put more time and effort into this assignment than any others. This project especially impacted my knowledge on the field of physical therapy because I had to look at all aspects in running a physical therapy clinic. I learned how to make organizational charts, write job descriptions, come up with a budget for the first year, come up with a quality assurance plan, write mission and philosophy statements, and list all equipment I needed in the clinic. The challenge I faced in this project was the budget. I spent countless hours on the budget with no results. I overcame this by asking help from an accounting student who deals with budgets in his job. He helped me organize each category, and through a lot of math I was able to make the budget finally work. I thought this project was educational because I got to design my own clinic instead of just read about what goes into starting a clinic. It was very hands on and I learned a lot from it.
