This Class emphasizes academic writing, and through this class I will strengthen my ability to make thought-provoking contributions to written conversations.
Reflective Writing
This semester has helped my writing improve immensely. My writing techniques have changed because I used the templates in the book which helped emphasis and make my argument stronger. I became better at distinguishing who was saying what, and I learned it is better to introduce three viewpoints rather than just two sides of an issue. I will continue what I have learned this year into my future because now I can more effectively argue an issue by introducing three different perspectives.
A new perspective I got from writing my paper was Facebook can be negative because advertisers can sometimes access your information which surprised me.
I expect to use my knowledge about rhetorical analysis in the future when I evaluate what people say according to their credibility. Also while researching I will only trust information that is written by someone who has good ethos, pathos, and logos.
This class helps develop strong thinkers, writers, and producers of visual media.
This is the first english class that has gotten me to fully engage and be excited about writing! It helped that my teacher had experience in writing for professional magazines and was very knowledgeable. I loved how the assignments were fun and pertained to how writing is done in the real world.
We experienced working in groups where we all helped to put a campaign together. My main assignments for the campaign were the proposal and the brochure. The hardest part about the proposal was shaping everyone's different writing styles into one paper. The brochure also ended up being harder than I thought. From doing the proposal I found out a lot about our topic so to do the brochure I not only had to condence all the infromation but I had to have good leads that would keep people's attention.
This was by far the best english class I have ever taken! Because of this class I am more confident in my writing, and I am excited to continue writing in the real world.
